popAI presents preliminary findings at the 9th biennial Surveillance & Society conference

The 9th biennial Surveillance & Society conference of the Surveillance Studies Network (SSN) is hosted by Erasmus University Rotterdam on June 1-3 2022 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

popAI will participate in this high-profile, interdisciplinary conference presenting the initial findings of the work package on Empirical Knowledge Collection and Management Framework. More specifically, Dr Pinelopi Troullinou will present the map of AI in policing innovation ecosystem discussing gaps in stakeholders’ representation such as the exclusion or under representation of vulnerable groups most affected by these developments. The critical analysis of this map contributes to the discussions about the democratisation of algorithmic surveillance.
