popAI participates in EAFS 2022
The biggest European Forensic Science Event – European Academy of Forensic Science Conference is held in Stockholm, Sweden, on May 30th – June 3rd June 2022.
EAFS 2022 is organised by the National Forensic Centre (NFC), a department within the Swedish Police Authority, under patronage of the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI).
The objective of this conference is to explore developments in the forensic science community reflecting the needs of law enforcement agencies combating organised crime and terrorism as well as new areas of criminal activities. The conference program comprises topics such as digital transformation of the forensic process, forensic data science, forensic human factors, forensic social responsibility and forensic technology innovation.
Over 1000 European and international practitioners, researchers, managers and stakeholders of the forensic science community alongside EU agencies, academia, industrial partners and international organisations will participate during the conference.
EAFS2022 in Stockholm includes a European Day, on Thursday 2nd June, promoting the work supported by EU funding over the last decade and at present, disseminating results and discussing future challenges for the forensic community and law enforcement.1
popAI participation in EAFS 2022 is an excellent opportunity for awareness raising, community engagement and dissemination of popAI findings – especially within such a prestigious and highly attended event within the Civil Security and Law Enforcement ecosystem.
The participation comes with two main events and modes:
- popAI will be an exhibitor in the European Day of EAFS2022. On Thursday 2nd June visitors will be able to visit the joint booth of the EU research cluster of AI for Civil Security
- popAI also co-organises a workshop together with project STARLIGHT, where popAI Coordinator Dr. Dimitris Kyriazanos will present the human factors & the ethical, legal and societal aspects (ELSA) of use of AI and relevant data for Law Enforcement, focusing on the tensions and controversies investigation/forensic effectiveness. The workshop is open to conference visitors and held on Thursday 2nd June at 11:30-12:30 CEST.
